Wanderer of Worlds Paperbacks
Wanderer of Worlds Paperbacks
THERE IS NOT ONE WORLD, BUT MANY.
WANDERERS CAN TRAVEL BETWEEN THE WORLDS.
THE AUTHORITIES WANT TO STOP THEM. PERMANENTLY.
Imagine you were born on a world ravaged by war, and all that remained was a wasteland. Food is scarce and survivors are violent. Imagine you knew of two ways to leave that world.
The first way is legal and civilised, via the Authorities. They control the Authority portal—a massive machine with the comforts of first class flight travel. You could go to a beautiful new world with a benevolent society and build a better life. But they guard their portal with military efficiency and it is an impossible prize, something you can never use.
The other option is criminal, one where the punishment is death. There is a bloodline—a Wanderer bloodline—that can activate a beam of light that threads through every world. It can take you to the next world, or the next if the world you land in is no better. If you have that bloodline, you can escape. If you know someone with that bloodline, all you need to do is take their hand.
Knowing that the Authorities would send Hunters after you, trained specialists who would track you down and kill you... would you take the risk? Would you wander?
Synjan Walker is a Navigator, she can not only see life-forms but also the lay of the land. She can find anybody—even if they don’t want to be found—because life-patterns are unique. She knows how to find the Portal to escape her violent life, but she finds it difficult to escape her obligations.
Daeson of Cloverlea sees the truth when people lie but their secrets are the cause of his undoing. Heeding the call of the Portal, Daeson mistakenly enters a new world—Synjan's world—and is forced to deal with thieves and killers instead.
Synjan and Daeson meet by chance and discover that they have been purposefully kept apart. Synjan is forced to leave in order to infiltrate the Authority base at its most chaotic - minutes after a terrorist attack. They both make shocking discoveries that lead to the deaths of friends.
Daeson and Synjan don't know each other very well, yet they've travelled to an entirely new world together to escape their pasts. Forced to co-operate in order to overcome their weaknesses, they find themselves taken in by a village of natives that sing instead of speaking and sleep on cliffsides.
Arriving in Femme, Daeson and Synjan find themselves at the mercy of an advanced civilisation that reveres Healers and oppresses men. Greeted by Intuits who can pluck secrets from their minds, their whirlwind journey through a technologically advanced world will test their resolve, their resources and their friendship
Daeson is forced to deal with the consequences of Synjan’s actions when he awakens in a mangled car wreck with a dying stranger. Hawke catches up but struggles with risking everything to do what’s right or continuing to do what’s right for him. As allies and enemies conspire on different worlds, Synjan and Hawke head into a desolate landscape of sand, violence and treachery.
